A Kindle is an excellent device for bookworms. It provides a convenient reading experience and compiles thousands of books in a single device.
You can have access to Amazon’s endless list of books and even get free books from the Kindle store.
You can also send books to your Kindle directly from email, but most users don’t know their Kindle email address since it’s different from their Amazon account.
In this article, we’ll explain how you can find your Kindle email address on Amazon.com and from your Kindle or the Kindle app.
Read on to also learn how to change your Kindle email address and send books to your Kindle via email.
Find A Kindle Email Address On Amazon.com
The easiest way to find Kindle email address is by logging in to your Amazon account. However, this only works if your Amazon account is connected to your Kindle.
1. Go to Amazon.com.
2. Hover your mouse over Accounts & Lists next to the shopping cart.
3. Click Content & Devices and select Devices from the top menu.
4. Click Kindle, and your Kindle email address will appear under the device name.
From here, you can also click More Actions > View Device Content to see the books on your Kindle.
Find A Kindle Email Address Using Your Kindle
If your Kindle isn’t connected to your Amazon account, find your email address by following these steps:
1. Open up the drop-down menu where you adjust brightness and warmth.
2. Tap All Settings > Your Account.
3. Scroll down and locate it under Send to Kindle Email Address.
Find Kindle Email Address Using the Kindle App
The Kindle App’s user interface is similar to Kindle devices. However, the instructions for finding a Kindle email address aren’t identical. Here’s how you can find your Kindle email address from the latest version of the Kindle app.
1. Tap More at the bottom menu.
2. Tap Settings.
3. The same as Kindles, you’ll find your Kindle email right under Send to Kindle Email Address.
How To Change A Kindle Email Address
Amazon chooses the Kindle email address automatically for users. It’s usually the same as your full name and a few extra letters and numbers.
You can send books to this email and get to reading right away but typing or memorizing it can be difficult. Luckily, you can change your Kindle email address.
Before changing your Kindle email, though, keep in mind that you can’t have the same email address for multiple devices. This also applies to the Kindle App – all Kindles must have different email addresses.
Here’s how you can change your Kindle email address:
1. Log in to your Amazon account and get to your Kindle email address as explained above.
2. Click Edit highlighted in blue next to your Kindle email address.
3. Enter your desired email address and click Save.
When doing this, Amazon may prompt you with a “Failed to Change Email” error after entering the desired email address.
This doesn’t indicate that you can’t change your Kindle email address. It alerts you that the email address you entered has been taken.
Enter a different email address and click Edit until you see “Successfully Changed Your Email Address.”
Send Books To Your Kindle Via Email
While you can send books to your Kindle by connecting it to your computer, it’s effortless once you’ve found your Kindle email address.
Simply send an email containing the files. You can then access the books from your Library within seconds. If the book doesn’t appear immediately, enter the file name in the search bar to find it.
Note that the new versions of Kindles don’t support MOBI and AZW formats. The books you send should be a PDF or EPUB file.
Alternative Ways To Find A Kindle Email Address
A Kindle email address isn’t an actual email per se. It doesn’t have a password or an inbox like you would have with any other email.
Your Kindle email address identifies your device, allowing you to send books and access them through the cloud.
Unless your Kindle is connected to your Amazon account or you have access to your Kindle or the Kindle app, you can’t know your Kindle email address.
Even sophisticated email lookup tools like Information.com will have a hard time finding a Kindle email address directly as it isn’t used for retrieving and sending emails; however, you can use it to find your Amazon account, which can help you find your Kindle address.
